We arrived at our hotel nobleandswanboutiquehotel.com and were welcomed by Lyly who is waiting for us full of smiles and welcomes, she is so lovely and really helpful. Our room is perfect lovely linen and everywhere very clean.
We asked Lyly to recommend a traditional restaurant and set off with our map. Wow the minute you set foot outside the noise and traffic is incredible- there may be traffic lights and zebra crossings but these are ignored in the main by motorbikes of which there are hundreds. You take your life in your hands when crossing the street, at first Jim tried waiting at zebra crossings ha ha that's not going to happen so we step out when there is a marginal gap and zig zag across - whether it is morning or night this traffic is the same and the end of the school day was a revelation with children weaving in and out of traffic.
So we found the restaurant that had three types of Poh on offer, shin which is meat that has been slow cooked or 2 raw meats. What an experience!! the woman chopping the meat uses the same knife and board whether it's raw or cooked meat so I am now wanting to back out but for some reason we go ahead. We get 2 huge bowls of broth with meat noodles and fresh herbs a plate of deep fried choux pastry, coke and a beer for less than £5. Seating arrangements are very cosy and communal, the Poh is actually ok and we make it to morning without any side affects phew!!
