HANMER SPRINGS 31ST JANUARY

Time for a rest at Hanmer Springs 31st January

The drive to Hanmer Springs was quite long and the weather became hotter and hotter which was good as Jim had suggested we stop at a beach on the way.  Unfortunately this didn't work out to well as it was so hot you could not walk on the sand and it was very busy with people fishing plus Jim had seen there were riptides.  As the sun blared down on us we returned to the car now all I can think about is getting cool - at least we have aircon
We arrive at Hanmer Backpackers and it is really lovely Tristan who runs it with his wife Yoko greets us with home made scones what a treat. Our room is lovely and there is a great kitchen area with a big dining table it's perfect.
We walk to the Thermal pools in 5 minutes and get a 2 day pass and book a private pool for $80 - sometimes it pays to be a pensioner!! The pools are so good we relax in the hot pools and have a swim in the large pool a lovely way to finish our day after all the driving.
Fish and chips for dinner as supermarket already shut so no cooking again!!

WE STAYED AT HANMER BACKPACKERS IT WAS EXCELLENT
