Joe has already left and now we are on our way to Ubud with our wonderful driver Putu what a lovely man he has taken us everywhere always with a smiling face and even treated us to Balinese music which he sang along with on the journey home the other evening.
Arrive at Villa Ladera at about 12 it's a bit early but our room is ready - another beautiful room with a small swimming pool of our own own for the next 3 days. Have a relaxing afternoon swim in the pool which is nice and cool and then go out to eat and watch traditional fire show. Had lovely meal at Mudra cafe and then tried to find show which should have been relatively easy but the problem wasthey had cancelled it even though we had tickets. Ended up paying a bit more and watching dancers it was ok but so really humid.
After a lovely breakfast our new driver Subaga picks us up, our friends Andrew and Cheryl recommended Subaga who is another lovely man. We drive to the paddy fields which at 8am are not very busy they are a work of art using every piece of land very beautiful.
Next stop is a farm which is called Cat Poo Chino where the coffee is made using beans that have passed through the Luwak a breed of cat which we are assured by our driver is all very hygienic. Yes we did the tasting tray but must say I preferred the normal vanilla coffee!!
We also visit a vast waterfall but opt not to take the long walk down to swim as I don't fancy the walk back up. Our final visit is to a wood carving centre where you can watch the people at work. We also look around a vast showroom with breathtaking pieces and of course we purchase a small carving and we don't even barter.
Back home we chill out "literally" in the pool and eat out later in Lotus restaurant..
This seems so serene and laid back after New Zealand and Australia and relaxing. Loved the 'saris'!! Keep on enjoying. Love Linda and Rayxx
