NO MORE SLEEPS

No more sleeps we are off in Monty for 6 weeks 31st May

We decided to have the traditional English breakfast on the ferry not that it would be my first choice but the porridge didn’t sound inspiring and I think we will be eating plenty of croissants in the next few weeks, anyway it was ok and by the time I had looked round duty free we had arrived in Calais.
After 5 hours with only a quick stop for lunch we arrived at our first campsite in Troyes, really pretty and so peaceful and we find a spot to settle down so we can all,  including Monty,  have a rest.  It’s not like at home where the pitches are sometimes quite close together and in rows - here there are lots of trees and plenty of space it’s really lovely.
1st June
We had an amazing storm last night and it’s still a bit gloomy so we leave after a  breakfast of fruit and toasted panettone still no croissants!! Instead of going on the autobarn we are taking the more scenic and cheaper route today as yesterday’s toll charge was 50 euros.  It takes a bit longer but it’s lovely scenery and we pass miles of grapevines and stop in Dijon for lunch in a Boulangerie which has the most delicious cakes all home made!!
After another great drive from Jim and Monty with only one mishap with the sat nav when we ended up in a car park we arrive in Pont de Vaux which is again lovely with the bonus again of a swimming pool all for 16 euros.  Dinner outside with a glass of red this is the life.
